Theatre Macon is a non-profit organization founded in 1986. Our theatre employs a full-time Artistic Director, as well as many contracted staff members. The theatre is also governed by a Board of Directors. For more information please click here.

5. How many shows are in your season?


Annually Theatre Macon produces 11 productions: 4 Main Stage shows, 2 Youth Artist Company shows, 4 Stage 2 Series shows, and 1 summer production.




6. What about your season subscription packages and how do I purchase season tickets?


Season subscriptions go on sale annually in the Spring for the season beginning in August. Season tickets may be purchased through the end of the run of the first show of the season. We have several subscription packages available and may be purchased via cash, check, debit cards, Mastercard, Visa, AMEX, or Discover. Season tickets may be purchased by mail, phone, walk-in, online, or prior to/during intermission of a performance.

8. What about your Youth Artists' Company?


The Theatre Macon Youth Artists' Company was established in 1988 to provide Middle Georgia youth with the opportunity to practice and grow their talents in theatre arts. The company produces two to three full-length productions each year which may include musicals, dramas, or comedies. Open auditions are held for all productions. Youth currently in grades 5-12 in a public, private, or homeschool are invited and encouraged to attend. Occasionally, we also offer theatre workshops specifically geared toward increasing the depth knowledge our youth artists have in theatre related fields.




9. What are the theatre's box office hours?


Box Office hours on days indicated are 10:00am - 3:00pm. The Box Office will also be open one hour prior to curtain on performance days.
Week before the show opens:

  • Monday & Tuesday: tickets can be reserved by phone or online by Season Subscribers ONLY
  • Wednesday: Online ticket sales open to the public
Week of show opening:
  • Monday - Friday: Phone reservations open to all via our Box Office at 478.746.9485.
Week of show closing:
  • Thursday & Friday ONLY: Phone reservations open to all via our Box Office at 478.746.9485.




10. How do I make a reservation?


By phone (478.746.9485) or walk-in during posted Box Office hours, or by following the “BUY TICKETS” link in the left-hand sidebar. Payment must be made at the time of the reservation. Theatre Macon subscribers are required to make reservations, either by phone or online (using their unique PATRON ID). If you choose the "Print At Home" option, there is no need to come to the theatre prior to the performance to pick up your ticket. If you choose the “Will Call” option, you will need to stop at the box office desk to pick up your tickets the day of your performance in the hour prior to curtain.




11. Where can I park when I attend Theatre Macon?


A credit card only parking deck ($1.00/hour) is located directly behind Theatre Macon with the entrance located on Poplar Street. A free (Friday-Sunday) parking deck is located adjacent to the Douglas Theatre with the entrance located directly between the Douglas Theatre and the parking garage itself. Street-side parking may also available on surrounding streets.




12. Can I dine near by the theatre?


Yes. There are many local restaurant options located in downtown Macon. A Thai restaurant, LaDDa Thai, is located in the space adjacent to our theatre and is available for convenient pre-performance dining.
